Since he was a small boy Paul has had a passion for birdwatching and wildlife. This lifelong fascination with the natural world has complemented his love of photography. Born in Devon and educated in Cornwall, Paul spent many years building a detailed knowledge of the birds and diverse habitats of the Westcountry. His passion for conservation and the environment followed him through his professional career.

As a senior manager Paul was responsible for the Environmental Management and Sustainability activities of several blue-chip companies. He has a Master of Science (MSc) degree in the Environment and Safety and during his professional career held membership of the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment. His corporate environmental responsibilities encompassed both national and international activities and he has served on Sustainability Committees for FTSE 250 and UK Group companies.

Paul is a member of the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO), Devon Birds, and the Cornwall Birdwatching and Preservation Society (CBWPS). He participates regularly in local wildlife conservation activities and his images have been used in birdwatching journals, wildlife trust websites and for conservation messaging. He is now retired and lives with his wife and two dogs on a smallholding on the Devon and Cornwall border.
