On Wednesday 9th September 2026 I will be leading a walk at the Lower Tamar Lake for Cornwall Bird members. This is a great location for birdwatching with a broad range of woodland, farmland and aquatic species. The lake is most well known for its healthy population of Willow Tits and Marsh Tits. One of the most difficult identification challenges for UK birdwatchers is separating Willow Tits and Marsh Tits. These two rare red listed species are found at both the Lower Tamar and Upper Tamar Lakes on the Devon and Cornwall border; my local birding spot.
