CBWPS Walk: Lower Tamar Lake/Bude Towpath

On Wednesday 9^th September 2026 I will be leading a walk at the Lower Tamar Lake for Cornwall Bird members. This is a great location for birdwatching with a broad range of woodland, farmland and aquatic species. The lake is most well known for its healthy population of Willow Tits and Marsh Tits.

Other notable species associated with the lake are wintering Goosander and regular visits from Common and Green Sandpiper.

Snipe, Water Rail and Reed Buntings are also regularly seen from the lakeside hide.

Although it’s late in the season there is always a chance of a warbler, most likely Willow Warbler, Blackcap or Chiffchaff.
